Community Outreach
The Special Olympics took place on Saturday, May 20, 2023, what a wonderful event. There were athletes from all over the state. An event for everyone.
We at Rising Sun Christian Community (RSCC) were able to give back to the community by volunteering to help facilitate the event. Our church member volunteers were used to help score and referee the game of Bocce. We were truly blessed to work with the athletes. Kinda of funny though, we may have been the referees, but they new the rules better than we. And eventhough , we had to declare a winner in each game, we really believe they were all winners. A great time was had by all.
Crossroads for women is an organization that helps displaced women find a place to live. Rising Sun Christian Community (RSCC) was able to make a $1000.00 donation to help their organization.
Here is the plaque that was presented to us in appreciation.
“Paws and Stripes” is a heartwarming event celebrating the bond between military veterans and their service animals. It showcases the incredible impact these animals have on veterans’ lives and offers a platform for sharing inspiring stories and demonstrations. Join us in honoring our veterans and their furry companions at this special event.
At A Light in the Night Community Outreach, we are dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of the homeless population in Albuquerque. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, our mission is clear: to improve the health, safety, and overall well-being of the men, women, and children who are experiencing homelessness in our community.
We are deeply honored to have been recognized as the “Best Humanitarian Group” by the readers of Albuquerque Magazine Readers. This recognition underscores our commitment to creating a brighter future for those who are facing the challenges of homelessness.
Since our inception, we have been relentless in our pursuit of justice and freedom for those who have been victims of human trafficking and youth homelessness. Our tireless efforts have already made a significant impact, as we have had the privilege of serving over 329 individuals who desperately needed our assistance.
But our work is far from over. As we continue our journey to eradicate human trafficking from New Mexico, we invite you to join us in this critical mission. Together, we can make a difference and bring hope and healing to those who need it the most.
Saranam’s two-generational, residential program, and integrated services – housing, education, and community – help families escape from homelessness and poverty permanently with a proven 77% success rate. Many programs addressing homelessness focus on immediate needs such as shelter, food, or addiction treatment. We work holistically tackling the causes of homelessness and poverty by working with the entire family over time.
When families exit from Saranam, most adults have earned their GED and some post-secondary or vocational training and education. After all, increased education leads to beter employment opportunities and more stable families.
